Show #2 - (Mandrills) Experience the magic of Disney's The Lion King JR. as Hillview Middle School brings the African savannah to life on stage. Our talented cast of 64 students from grades 6-8 performs this timeless story of courage, friendship, and destiny under the expert direction of District Drama Specialist Bill Hairston. Join Simba on his epic journey from a curious cub to the rightful king of the Pridelands, and enjoy beloved songs like "Hakuna Matata" and the Academy Award®-winning "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," along with additional music from the Broadway adaptation. This year marks the 10th anniversary of staging The Lion King in the Menlo Park City School District. What began as a simple production at Oak Knoll Elementary has evolved into a cherished tradition involving over 600 students district-wide—nearly 25% of our community. Located in the heart of Menlo Park, Hillview Middle School is dedicated to fostering a vibrant educational environment, encouraging students to explore their passions, especially in the arts. We offer numerous opportunities in theater, music, and visual arts, making the annual school musical a highlight of the year. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing cast, the dedicated crew of 48 members, supportive staff, and the entire community for making this production possible.
