Thank you.
2:48
We'll be right back.
3:17
Thank you.
4:13
Make you truly thankful
4:41
What's his name?
4:43
Oliver!
4:47
Oliver, Oliver.
5:09
I can't believe I can't say somebody named him
5:14
Oliver.
5:17
Oliver, Oliver, Oliver,
5:24
Oliver.
5:25
I'm just a boy named him.
5:27
I can't believe I can't
5:36
believe I can't believe I'm on the way I'm on the way.
5:37
Only man, only man, only man
5:41
I'll tell the quiet things, only man
5:43
I'll call me in the light
5:56
Well, I'd be off and see what I can get
5:59
to this young scoundrel
6:01
Make sure you get your price for him, Mr. Bumble
6:05
Dad! All of you!
6:35
. . .
6:48
I want to know all
6:54
we need,
6:56
I want to know all we need,
7:01
I've got you so far
7:07
from the end.
7:11
I can't believe it.
7:15
I can't believe
7:20
it.
7:24
I can't believe it.
7:29
I don't know what I'm telling you I'm
7:34
there
7:43
I'm there
8:15
Liberal times, Mr. Sowerberry, three pounds.
8:19
Well, as a matter of fact, I was meeting a boy.
8:25
One apprentice. Three pounds, please.
8:29
Well, if you don't mind, cast upon liking, Mr.
8:34
Bumble.
8:35
Cast upon liking.
8:37
Oh, Mrs. Sowerberry!
8:39
What is it you want? What is home, Mr. Bumble?
8:43
My dear, I told Mr. Bumble that we may consider taking in this boy
8:48
to help us with the stock.
8:50
Dear me, he's very small.
8:52
Yes, he is rather small, Mr.
8:53
no denying it, but he'll grow, Mrs. Sowerberry, he'll grow. I dare say he will on this,
8:59
isn't
8:59
Audrey? They're a waste of time, these workhouse boys. They always cost more to
9:04
keep than their
9:04
work. What's your name, boy? My name's Oliver. Oliver
9:10
Twist, ma 'am. An orphan then, Mr. Bumble.
9:13
Indeed, Mrs. Sowerberry. The child's mother came to us destitute, bringing the child into
9:18
the world, takes one look at him, and promptly dies without...
9:21
giving so much as a forwarding name and a drink.
9:25
It's very well there to heal your coffin follower.
9:28
That's your job. Have you eaten yet?
9:30
No, Mum. Not since.
9:31
Charlotte! Charlotte!
9:33
What? Bring in some of them cold biscuits
9:35
to talk to the doors.
9:37
It hasn't been in all day, so it can go without them.
9:39
I doubt say the boy ate too dainty to eat them.
9:41
I'm your boy. Charlotte,
9:43
this is the new boy. Give them a season.
9:59
Have you done?
10:01
Yes, ma'am.
10:02
Good, the dogs are supposed to have it now.
10:04
Now that all of it's with, your bed friends at the counter.
10:07
Don't mind sleeping among 40s, I suppose.
10:09
But it doesn't matter whether you do a dance.
10:11
You can't sleep nowhere else.
10:33
Where is love?
10:38
Don't leave home from sight above
10:46
It's under me, so it holds me, that
10:51
I've been dreaming of.
10:58
It's under me, so
11:04
it holds me, that
11:10
I've been dreaming of.
11:22
Thank you.
12:22
Are you the new boy?
12:24
Yes, sir.
12:25
How old are you?
12:27
Eleven, sir.
12:28
Did you want a coffin, sir?
12:30
No, but you'll be wanting one before very long
12:32
if you start speaking with your superiors.
12:34
You don't know who I am, I suppose.
12:37
Work hours.
12:38
No sir, I can't say if I do.
12:42
I'm Mr. Noah Claypool, and you're under me.
12:46
So open up the blind, you idle dumb scowdy wad.
12:50
Noah, I saved a nice little bit of bacon to you
12:53
from after breakfast.
12:55
Oliver, hold the cup for Mr. Noah and make it,
12:58
because he wanted you to mind to stop.
13:00
Do you hear?
13:01
What are you staring at, woke-up?
13:04
Noah, left the boy alone.
13:06
Let him alone. I'm giving the boy a change, you silly thing.
13:10
Everyone's left him alone. His father's left him alone. His mother.
13:14
Work out, tell your mother.
13:16
You leave my mother out of it. She's dead.
13:19
What did she die of? Storage of breath?
13:22
She's just dead. She died of a broken heart.
13:25
Well told to roll, roll, roll, roll, rightful Larry.
13:28
And it's a good thing she died when she did, or she would have been transported to Australalia,
13:32
or hung from the gallows as life is not.
13:56
Oliver, you let me out.
13:58
Do you notice your voice, Oliver?
14:00
Yeah, and ain't you afraid of mine, Oliver?
14:02
Ain't it you're trembling while I speak, Oliver?
14:06
Well, of course you must be mad, Mr. Bumble.
14:08
It's not madness, madam.
14:09
It's meat.
14:10
If you'd have kept him on gruel, this never would have happened.
14:13
He comes with a bad family.
14:15
We called my mother names.
14:17
She probably deserved all his certain words.
14:19
She didn't.
14:20
It's a lie.
14:33
Thank you.
14:58
I'm a
15:05
little bit of a new sauce, new sauce,
15:11
sausage and mustard, wild love in the mood,
15:17
cold sally and custard, what you don't ask, and
15:23
you never seen at all, no never either.
15:26
That's all right, don't worry about it.
15:28
You're hungry, starving.
15:31
Yes, I've been walking for seven days.
15:34
Seven days?
15:35
Who are you running from then?
15:37
You're all mad?
15:38
No, for an orphan.
15:40
I've come to London to make my fortune.
15:44
Oh, you have, have you?
15:46
Yes, go in your lodging?
15:48
No, money?
15:50
Not farming.
15:52
Do you live in London?
15:53
Well, now I'm at home.
15:55
I suppose you want to place a seat tonight, don't you?
15:57
Are you accommodated?
15:59
No, I don't think so.
16:01
Then the accommodator you shall be, young mate.
16:03
There's a certain place, and I know I'm a respectable old gentleman who lives there.
16:08
What will give you lodges?
16:10
For nothing.
16:11
Mr. Fagan.
16:12
That's his name, Mr. Fagan.
16:14
By the way, if I'm introducing you to Mr. Fagan, I better know who you are here in China.
16:20
My name's Oliver, Oliver Twist, and my name...
16:23
I'm Jack Dawkins.
16:24
Better know how long you want, innit friends,
16:27
as the artful doja.
16:29
Please meet him, Mr Dawkins.
16:31
Come and think of it,
16:32
I've got no innit friends.
16:34
What's the difference?
16:35
I'm so much to think about mine.
16:38
Mine?
17:10
Thank you.
17:19
We'll be
17:25
right back.
17:47
We'll be right back.
18:20
Thank you.
20:12
Say again? Say again? Say again? Say again?
20:17
What? I've got your new friends to see you, Oliver Twink.
20:23
Sir, I hope I have the honour of making your most intimate acquaintance.
20:28
I'm very glad to see you, Oliver, offering my guest.
20:33
Yes, of course.
20:37
Mr. Swift has come to London to seek your fortune.
20:40
Ah, so you've come to London to seek your fortune.
20:44
We must see what we can do to help you.
20:47
Are you hungry?
20:49
Starving.
20:49
Would you like a sausage?
20:54
I'm sorry, this sausage is wobbly.
20:57
Ah, you're a star at the pocket attitude.
21:00
They're quite a few of them, aren't they?
21:03
We've just...
21:03
For what? For what? That's all, Oliver. That's all.
21:08
Is it the laundry then, sir?
21:13
Well, not exactly, my dear, though.
21:16
I suppose a laundry would be a very nice thing indeed.
21:19
But I'm not in the business place, it needs to be better, don't it, boys?
21:27
You see, Oliver?
21:35
We'll be right back.
21:59
Show me what it's this one, dear!
22:04
Robin Hood, what a Christmas time!
22:08
I'm a white-walking jerk!
22:10
I can't be part of the party!
22:13
I'm gonna get out and get a book-a-booking!
22:15
I'm gonna get a book-a-booking!
22:28
...I do it with the young girl...
22:31
...I do it with me...
22:36
I can't get you from the side...
22:39
...he can't whip the walk...
22:41
...he can't do it with my...
22:43
...and call me for the young girl...
22:45
...she'll get me for you to be...
22:47
...go take a pocketbook, a boy...
22:51
...you've got to take a pocketbook...
22:54
...a boy, yeah...
22:56
I'm not a person, I'm not a person.
23:01
And when I see someone's ring, there's my body who's
23:06
starting to rain.
23:08
I'm a human, I'm a piece of art.
23:12
I'm a thinker for me, don't thinker for me,
23:18
don't thinker for me, don't thinker for me.
23:19
Boy!
23:23
I'm not a person, I'm not a person.
23:24
We'll be right back.
23:52
All right, all right, put them all back in the ball.
24:04
Aren't that Oliver?
24:06
Nipper, come here.
24:20
What a crook!
24:21
I hope you've all been out at work today, my dear.
24:26
I know!
24:28
What have you got for me, Dodger?
24:30
Couple of woodies.
24:32
Well, I'm dying, I hope.
24:33
Only the best.
24:34
Not as obvious as they might be, but very nicely made.
24:38
He's getting his workman, ain't he, Oswe?
24:40
Did he make it himself?
24:43
Yeah, where did I lose my hand?
24:45
Just your trust, Charlie!
24:48
And what have you got for me, my dear?
24:51
No, Dad.
24:53
They're very good ones, but you haven't involved the initials in too well.
24:57
So they'll have to be picked up with the nasal.
25:00
You'll need to learn how to do that too.
25:03
And you'll need to learn how to make words like the Dodger and Charlie here.
25:07
You'd like that, wouldn't you, Oliver?
25:09
Yes, Mr. Fagin.
25:10
If you'll teach me...
25:11
Gently, my boy.
25:13
Nice feet.
25:15
Just so you have a feet.
25:16
Dodger Charlie do. Make him your model.
25:19
Especially Dodger. He's going to be a right-heeled Bill Fagin.
25:23
Who's Bill Fagin, Mr Fagin?
25:26
Pull in good time, Oliver. Pull in good time.
25:29
Now, can you see the Bill Ganker Chee force or Trudy from Wide Pockets?
25:33
Yes, sir.
25:35
Do you think he came from...
25:40
Tum, tum, tum. Tum, tum, tum.
25:43
Tum, tum, tum.
25:59
Is it going?
26:01
Yes, sir.
26:01
It's in my hand.
26:24
I have to go to the bank, all right,
26:29
all right, bedtime, all of it, and what shall I sleep, sir, here, Oliver,
26:34
by the wall, all right, all right, settle down, settle down.
26:40
I told you, take your heart open, but what is your manners?
26:45
A lot older, you can't get me now.
26:48
You go home, a profession, a sitting, own credit.
26:54
If you're going this way, you'll be the greatest man of all time.
27:01
Oh, got to pick a bucket all day.
27:05
Got to pick up.
27:17
Thank you.
27:43
I'm a real Moisey and I.
27:45
Can I help it?
27:47
I'm just like, can I help it?
27:52
A great cup of coffee.
27:58
And a canter.
28:04
Oh, hell my bitty.
28:08
You've got to meet my other extra special lucky friend, T-R-V.
28:15
I mean, who's going to have to meet me, all right?
28:20
But you?
28:22
You? What are you doing?
28:25
What are you doing? I want to hear every detail you thought.
28:29
I'm sorry. Speak. I'm sorry.
28:33
I thought I couldn't sleep.
28:34
Were you awake at the corner of an altar?
28:37
Ten minutes ago?
28:38
Not going nowhere.
28:39
Be sure, be sure.
28:41
I'm sure.
28:42
Alright, Oliva.
28:44
If you're sure, I'm sure.
28:46
Do you see any of those
28:48
pretty things, my darling?
28:50
Yes, sir.
28:52
They're mine, Oliva.
28:53
My private property.
28:56
So I've got to live on the old age.
28:59
Terrible thing, old age.
29:01
May I get up now sir?
29:04
Certainly my boys, there's a person who bought all of them.
29:07
He can have a horse.
29:08
But I had a horse yesterday.
29:10
Well, but how's your birthday?
29:22
Slummy and slow.
29:23
Wake up boys, the ladies are here.
29:27
Life is cool.
29:29
Oh, I'll get up. We'll have less of that if you don't mind.
29:33
Barton can be a dangerous thing for a peer young girl.
29:37
And what's wrong with it of a danger then, Mr. Fagin?
29:41
Now, what's wrong with it of a danger then, Mr. Fagin?
29:44
And it was an eye of that small pleasure.
29:51
Small pleasure, small pleasure, and it was an eye of that great rain.
29:57
Don't be the second I should be the king
30:01
I'm not in my life I'm in my life
30:09
If you don't
30:14
want to talk about me
30:17
I'm not in my life I'm not in my life
30:22
I'm not in my life I'm in my life
30:24
I'm not in my life I'm not in my life
30:27
We'll be right back.
30:55
Thank you.
31:21
It's a big ball
31:27
It's fun
31:39
Not for me
31:41
I'll be out
31:47
So it's fun
31:49
Sometimes touches me
31:51
For the life of such that
31:55
You might find
31:58
Find me
32:04
Yeah
32:17
How do you do this then, Fergus?
32:18
I know he's all for court.
32:20
This is our new lodger.
32:22
Max, that Oliver treats.
32:23
It's quiet.
32:25
Tom, please meet him, sir.
32:30
Don't you take no notice from Oliver just because you've got manners in there, eh?
32:34
You were not quality if you saw it.
32:36
None of you.
32:38
Have you seen the way them quality gentlemen treats their ladies?
32:41
Of course I have.
32:42
Shall we show them how it's done?
32:45
So...
32:45
How's it go then, Dodger?
32:47
Bowing in that song
32:48
You're a little bit as long as I'm going, my darling
32:50
I don't know
32:53
I don't know anything
32:55
I don't know
32:57
I don't know anything
33:02
I know that I don't know
33:06
Anywhere
33:07
Do your smile
33:11
Everywhere
33:12
Do your smile
33:15
We'll be right back.
33:45
Thank you.
34:09
Everything is right.
34:18
And back again on you.
34:21
Everything is right.
34:24
Everything, yes, I do.
34:27
Everything is right.
34:32
We'll be right back.
34:44
Thank you.
35:19
That's what I've
35:26
been saying
35:26
Where everything you can do for me is get to work
35:30
Can't have you sighting about here, old boy
35:32
That's what you're kicking.
35:34
on them streets. Nancy, aren't you better get back before Bill wipes
35:39
out? Yea, alright.
35:40
Now, listen, Oliver, you be careful. Ta-ta, you lot. Ta-ta, be safe.
35:47
Alright, Oliver, you can go dodger. You've got to start sometime and believe me, you keep
35:52
making fine stuff. Good luck on your first day in the job, my darling. And don't
35:57
worry,
35:58
I'll be here for you when you get started.
36:02
Lola! Lola!
36:04
Jingle bars! Jingle bars!
36:06
Red! Oh! Let's see!
36:08
No! Yeah!
36:10
Oh no!
36:10
Because you've seen the same
36:12
Because all you're working
36:14
I hope I can't hear you all right now
36:18
Very well to be the same
36:20
Now when I get ready
36:23
You know we can't forget
36:25
Sing that to be the same
36:28
You know I can't hear you all right now
36:30
We'll be
36:39
right back.
36:58
Thank you.
38:03
Eat that back.
38:05
Come on.
38:12
Stop that boy.
38:13
My pump's been picked.
38:26
Thank you.
38:54
That's the boy.
39:18
Thank you.
40:14
Oh, oh, oh.
40:49
Thank you.
41:39
Oh, my
42:03
God.
42:35
Oh, my God.
43:03
Thank you.
43:31
What do you mean?
43:36
What is it?
43:59
There he is!
44:02
Where's Oliver?
44:03
Where's the boy?
44:05
He got taken away!
44:06
In a cage!
44:08
To a cage!
44:10
Where a cage!
44:11
He got knives on the jogs!
44:12
They took him to the courts!
44:13
We waited outside!
44:14
Not all men we did!
44:15
Come out of court with Oliver!
44:17
I took him away!
44:18
In a cage!
44:20
He tricked me!
44:20
The poor side of town!
44:22
Dipped all gardens!
44:23
I run all the way!
44:25
To a pipe!
44:25
To the factory!
44:27
It's supposed to never let him out of our hearts.
44:30
It's supposed to bring him back with us.
44:33
New boy got nabbed on his first day in the job with Dodger.
44:37
I'm afraid he might have said something that could get us into trouble.
44:40
Somebody must find out what Sinjo all said.
44:44
He hasn't talked yet.
44:45
The two times, we might get him back without suspicions.
44:50
We'll have him the very moment he dares step out of that house.
44:53
Now who's going to go?
44:54
I suppose.
44:55
will have to be me.
44:56
Get your truck, Dodger.
44:58
You've already caused a lot of trouble.
45:00
It's got to be done quietly.
45:02
We don't want any questions.
45:04
The very thing, Nancy, my dear.
45:07
Yes, I give it for boys.
45:10
No good trying it on with me.
45:12
And just what do you mean by that remark?
45:14
What I say, Bill, I'm not going.
45:17
Why can't you leave the boy alone?
45:18
He won't give you no harm.
45:20
Why can't you leave him where he is?
45:22
He'll get the chance.
45:23
for the decent life.
45:25
You'll get him back here, my girl.
45:28
Nancy! Nancy! Think of what we're happening
45:31
as you talk. Think of what we're happening
45:33
to Bill. You need a galloist
45:35
for him, Nancy. The galloist.
45:37
You wouldn't let that happen
45:39
to Bill. Not your Bill.
45:42
You'll go, Sagan.
45:43
The rest of you clear out.
45:51
Go home, Beth. Go home. That was a good go.
46:02
As long as he needs me
46:08
Oh yes, he does need me
46:15
In spite of love
46:19
I'm sure that you
46:27
As long as love
46:37
And somehow I
46:42
As long as love
46:47
I know you are lonely and you are
46:53
I know I need you
46:56
Your love and your love
47:03
I know you are
47:13
We'll be right back.
47:16
As long as he
47:20
He
47:44
Thank you.
50:46
I think you'll find a great improvement in the boys.
50:48
That's me, sir.
50:51
How do you feel today, my boy?
50:53
Very happy, sir.
50:55
May I say you're always, sir.
50:57
If you wish, dear boy.
50:58
Here's the doctor. Come see.
51:02
Well, he's certainly looking better.
51:04
Not thirsty, are you?
51:06
If that boy's thirsty, I'll eat my head.
51:09
Are you?
51:10
Yes, sir.
51:11
I am rather thirsty.
51:12
Just as I expected.
51:14
It's very natural to be thirsty.
51:16
Can you give him a little piece?
51:17
Thank you, Doctor.
51:19
May I get that now, sir?
51:20
I think you might.
51:21
I'll take a little fresh air.
51:23
Don't keep him too warm, Mrs. Bedding, but be careful that he doesn't have to be too cold.
51:31
He's a fine boy. Don't you think, Grimwig? Couldn't tell you. Where did he come from?
51:36
I haven't defined his idea. He was a russer for stealing my pocket's handkerchief, but when a shopkeeper told what really happened,
51:41
he was released by the magistrate.
51:42
I brought him here to make what it meant I could, but I confess. I found myself strangely attached to the house.
51:48
He's deceiving you, my good friend. He's still your pocket-hater, didn't he?
51:52
Just your monster. What do you know of him? Nothing.
51:55
Owen got a musical.
51:56
And yet, it's strange.
51:59
There's something that always speaks.
52:00
I can't explain it, but somewhere I seem to have seen it before.
52:03
Somewhere a long time ago.
52:05
Stopping nonsense. You're imagining things.
52:08
Yes, what is it?
52:09
There is someone to see you, sir.
52:11
One if you want.
52:12
Well, if you order from the bookseller.
52:14
Oh, yes. Thank you.
52:16
Now, I've got to give you some...
52:18
Hey, wait a moment.
52:19
Hey, come back.
52:20
Oh, really, really, really.
52:22
And I particularly wish some books to return today.
52:24
Why not send Oliver with them?
52:27
Do you let me take them for you, please, sir?
52:30
Oh, um, oh, very well, my boy.
52:33
Very well.
52:34
If you wish, you shall.
52:35
Now, I'll tell you what I want you to do.
52:38
Go give Mr. Jess a few books.
52:40
It's just down the road.
52:41
And say you've come to pay the four-pound cents as I own.
52:43
Now, here's five pounds.
52:44
No need to rush, but I shall expect you back in ten minutes.
52:50
Very good, thank you.
52:52
Yes, I supported my daughter, and I'll take a look at her.
52:57
Yes, you do.
52:59
How? You? Really?
53:08
Oh, my day.
53:10
Dr. Grimwidge, people who support you, don't you see an extraordinary resemblance between Oliver
53:15
and my daughter, Adma?
53:17
I can't say I do.
53:19
Well, in ten minutes, Dr. Grimwidge.
53:20
When the bowl returns, I'll see you with me.
53:23
Yes, Mr. Frauner.
53:24
Ten minutes.
53:49
Thank you.
54:49
We'll be right back.
55:20
Thank you.
55:48
Oh, my dear brother.
55:50
It's going, it's going, Nancy.
55:52
I found him.
55:53
Oliver, where have you been?
55:55
We've been worried out of our heads.
55:57
What's the matter, Jill?
55:59
Oh, he ran away two weeks ago from his parents,
56:01
who are hardworking, respectable people,
56:03
and went into a set of thieves and bad characters.
56:06
Almost broke his mother's heart.
56:08
It's not true.
56:09
The young rats go around me, little group.
56:12
I'm not. I can't want a mother or a father. I'm an orphan.
56:16
Oh, heaven, just listen to it.
56:18
Beth, tell them to let me go.
56:20
See, you know the sister, you can't hide that.
56:23
What the devil's all this?
56:25
Oh, he's only playing enough.
56:27
Oliver, come on in, beautiful mother, you young dog.
56:30
Come on in.
56:31
What the fuck's this?
56:33
You've been stealing again, haven't you?
56:35
He's nothing but a thief in a...
56:37
No! I don't belong to them! Help! Help!
57:05
Oh, all of that, so you've come home again, my dear.
57:09
Look, we've...
57:11
So you've come home again, my dear.
57:15
Look at his food bagging.
57:17
He's got book ten, quite a little jade.
57:21
And the goddess will pay to see for three years
57:24
and spoil that Sunday one.
57:26
Why didn't you write, my dear?
57:28
He would have had something warm for supper.
57:33
Cool, look at this, a 5 -10 -9, that's mine say again, no, no, no Bill,
57:39
mine, mine, you can have the books, but
57:44
that ain't mine, I'll touch your boy back again, come on, end over, this is hardly fair
57:49
Bill, fair will not give it in, it's mine to have the trouble and not ask me either, now the
57:54
books, start a library, you can't have the books or
57:59
the money, they belong to Mr.
58:01
Brownlow, and if he finds out he got them, he'll be down here after you.
58:10
So he'll be down here, will he?
58:12
Leave him alone, Bill.
58:14
What have you told him about that?
58:17
That remains to be seen.
58:18
We find out you've got anything, anything out of place.
58:23
Beggin' all wager this young scoundrel told you everything.
58:26
All right, all right, we've got the boys back.
58:30
What's the matter with you?
58:32
The girl's gone mad, I think, Sagan.
58:34
No, she hasn't said you don't think it.
58:36
Say, please quiet, will you?
58:38
I wish I'd been struck down dead,
58:40
swallowing your hand in bringing him back here.
58:42
After tonight, he's a liar and an evil,
58:44
and all that's bad.
58:45
Ain't that enough of you?
58:46
Without scaring him to death?
58:48
Can I use civil words, Nancy?
58:51
Civil words?
58:52
Yes, you deserve them from me.
58:54
I was out on the streets when I was a child half his age.
58:57
in the same trade, the same stuff for 15 years since, and don't you forget it.
59:38
And I'll take care of myself.
1:00:12
A man's got a heart
1:00:16
Has been changed
1:00:19
A man's got a heart
1:00:23
As in tea, in the world you're alive,
1:00:29
I don't want to just die.
1:00:33
For you, to be really as blunt as I
1:00:38
pray.
1:00:42
I'm revering, watching, and I'll
1:00:48
be a bit in all the fun.
1:00:51
To try and move, and to the love and move
1:00:55
Step them down and get my support
1:00:59
And the wife can stumble me, and tumble me, and death pull me
1:01:04
And laugh at me and tumble me, a finger she will wag at me
1:01:08
The money she will buy for me, the measure is the life I miss
1:01:11
For I think I miss the next day
1:01:25
Oh, where should I go?
1:01:29
Come to me.
1:01:31
Where do I know?
1:01:35
Oh, my sister.
1:01:43
Here am I.
1:01:46
Something I've already had
1:01:52
All really
1:01:54
I can't find
1:01:58
And find
1:02:03
And travel
1:02:04
And see
1:02:06
I can't find
1:02:09
All the fuzzy
1:02:11
And pull me
1:02:12
O man
1:02:13
This is a
1:02:14
The two of us are not for me.
1:02:21
But the two of us are not for me.
1:02:24
Paris, no, you can't scream for me.
1:02:28
But who will bring the three of us?
1:03:04
Married two weeks to the Widow Corny, I sold myself sheep, dead
1:03:09
sheep.
1:03:10
Steve? Are you going to sit downstairs and know where you'll die?
1:03:14
I will sit here as long as I think proper, madam.
1:03:17
Pardon me, Mr. Bumble, Widow Corny.
1:03:20
What's the matter?
1:03:22
It's old Sally, ma'am.
1:03:23
She says she has got something to say that must be heard.
1:03:26
Do not get wrong and she won't die quite till you listen, ma'am.
1:03:29
Well, what is it?
1:03:31
It's very well.
1:03:33
What's done?
1:03:34
The video feature was brought into the cold.
1:03:38
They burst into a boy, they died.
1:03:41
Then he died.
1:03:43
It's fine to hear, what about us?
1:03:46
I brought her, told me that she had a knife,
1:03:49
and it was cold, cold.
1:03:52
What happened?
1:03:54
This is Eddie.
1:03:55
It was a long time,
1:03:56
and it's about to make it a different time.
1:03:59
The boy's knife, it's cold, it's cold.
1:04:02
Oh, it's dark!
1:04:04
Oh, my God!
1:04:06
We must agree with our boy, Mr. Bumble, we must indeed, ma'am, we must indeed.
1:04:15
Oliver, Oliver, that was a mighty boy to play.
1:04:18
Oliver, Oliver, apparently he's a great family.
1:04:23
He's a great, really, stupidly wedding.
1:04:28
One, two, three, so pretty, I can't see the thing.
1:04:32
Oliver, Oliver, Oliver.
1:04:34
The only thing we must give in is due, and
1:04:39
we'll pray.
1:05:00
I understand that you bring information.
1:05:02
We've gone the boy all the way.
1:05:04
We come and answer your advertisement.
1:05:07
Bumble is my name, sir.
1:05:09
Beedle of the workhouse where the boy was cared for.
1:05:11
Where he was a perfect to an undertaker.
1:05:13
Where he ran away, sir.
1:05:15
Yes, yes, it's very good of you to come.
1:05:17
Now, what do you like to tell me?
1:05:19
This rocket was given to me by the lads' dying mother
1:05:23
just before she tossed away.
1:05:27
You say I still left your workhouse?
1:05:29
He went to an undertaker's.
1:05:30
Mr. Sowerberry took him from us for three pounds.
1:05:33
He was determined that you sold him like an animal.
1:05:37
Well, sir, it was actually Widow Corny who authorized to sell.
1:05:42
Really, then I shall see that neither of you is employed into a position of trust again.
1:05:46
Leave my house.
1:05:47
How dare you speak so to me, sir?
1:05:49
I came here to help you.
1:05:51
You came here in hope of proving from your own green and softy.
1:05:54
Sir, if you consider the trinket built properly belonged to us,
1:05:58
Ten pounds. Pay to give and consider to afford it that you don't find yourself in the hands of the law.
1:06:04
Mrs. Beverly, show these ghastly people out.
1:06:06
Yes, sir.
1:06:07
We know the way out. Thank you very much.
1:06:10
It was all Mrs. Bumble.
1:06:12
The law supposes that your wife ascends your direction.
1:06:14
If the law supposes that, then the law is an idiot.
1:06:28
Look, I'm just mad.
1:06:30
She must have raged her way to the war couch.
1:06:32
It helped her out there.
1:06:33
Oh, shit.
1:06:40
Oliver's in danger.
1:06:41
In bad company.
1:06:43
I'm the girl who dragged me back for all Sagan on the morning,
1:06:45
who went missing from this house,
1:06:46
and I'd wish I'd never been a part of it.
1:06:48
You, me, and someone else.
1:06:51
Where is this Sagan's, and who's the other person you speak of?
1:06:54
Take me to him.
1:06:55
I can't tell you, but I'll bring Oliver to you.
1:06:57
Not here. It's far too dangerous.
1:06:59
Where, then?
1:07:00
Well, you promise that I won't be watched or followed?
1:07:02
I promise you to follow me.
1:07:04
Then tonight, between 11 and the time the clock strikes 12,
1:07:07
I will walk on one bridge and I will bring Oliver.
1:07:09
Very well.
1:07:11
Do you think we can trust him, Mr. Brown, though?
1:07:13
I'm afraid we have no choice, Mr. Bedding.
1:07:50
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
1:08:01
Thank you.
1:08:54
All right, now, you stay with that, and I'll go with you to the right.
1:09:01
Don't see!
1:09:07
Let him go!
1:09:10
Why do you listen to that bell?
1:09:12
Give me your wife, would you?
1:09:13
No, no, you don't let me in!
1:09:15
Why are you looking at that bill?
1:09:17
Let him go for anything. I wasn't gonna say nothing.
1:09:19
Let him go!
1:09:21
God, I'm kidding, I'm my girl.
1:09:23
He's late enough for I am going to get you.
1:09:28
Oh my God!
1:09:32
Who's going?
1:09:45
I see you there!
1:09:48
Go!
1:09:51
She's unconscious!
1:09:54
I came here to see the cold window, and I came out, I thought she was ready to have the
1:10:00
It's not seen the thing, it's not seen.
1:10:02
I'm the very little.
1:10:04
You're a plant-truck character, and she's fucking really strong.
1:10:08
Pass her hair!
1:10:11
I don't
1:10:22
know
1:10:37
what to do.
1:10:39
Get up, you're left.
1:10:41
Don't you go.
1:11:07
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
1:11:13
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
1:11:19
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
1:11:24
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
1:11:27
Oh, my God.
1:11:38
There he is!
1:11:40
There's a boy!
1:12:03
Oh, oh, oh,
1:12:15
oh.
1:12:33
I need to change, but I need to hold on my mind.
1:12:38
I need to change, I've got them back to my heart.
1:12:44
I'll turn in and give you some more time, my
1:12:49
mind.
1:12:53
Have you never seen a talk?
1:13:07
Thank you.
1:15:31
Okay, now everybody sit down please, and we'll have the eighth graders
1:15:36
stand up, so our eighth
1:15:39
graders, it's
1:15:46
a very special night for them, this is their
1:15:48
last musical at Hillview.
1:15:52
And I am now going to turn the mic over to Priscilla Udell,
1:15:58
one of our parent volunteer leaders.
1:16:04
Hi, everyone.
1:16:05
Thanks so much for being here today.
1:16:07
The eighth graders, you can have a seat for now.
1:16:11
If you could bear with us,
1:16:12
we would like to give the eighth graders who requested
1:16:16
the opportunity to give a gift to the directors.
1:16:19
But before we get to that,
1:16:21
I wanted to thank every single person in this room.
1:16:24
You guys bring so much joy to this auditorium.
1:16:26
You bring so much joy to this community.
1:16:29
And we're so thankful for the volunteers,
1:16:31
the people who are back there sewing,
1:16:33
who are helping the kids stay bright and happy and joyful
1:16:37
as they work so incredibly hard.
1:16:40
You should see them back there.
1:16:41
They work so incredibly hard,
1:16:43
as you guys know, for every practice.
1:16:44
So thank you so much just for wrapping your arms around this theater program and all the
1:16:49
volunteering that you do to make it possible.
1:17:00
So now we will present gifts.
1:17:03
We will start for the eighth graders.
1:17:06
When I call the director's name, please stand up and come and get the microphone.
1:17:12
We'll do the flowers, sorry.
1:17:14
Okay, Miss West.
1:17:21
Miss West, there you are.
1:17:34
Thank you all for being here tonight.
1:17:36
I have the wonderful pleasure of thanking Mrs. West,
1:17:40
our vocal director.
1:17:40
director. I first knew you as my best friend's mom. I knew you as the person who
1:17:45
knew exactly
1:17:46
where to get our Halloween costume from and the best pasta sauce for spaghetti. So
1:17:52
when
1:17:52
I heard you were helping with Lion King, I was really excited. We've learned so many
1:17:56
things from you and we've improved so much, whether it was staying after rehearsal to
1:18:01
help us practice or fixing our harmonies because at first they did not sound very good. Your
1:18:07
hard work has shown
1:18:08
every song. I'm really sad to say this is my last year working with you.
1:18:13
We truly couldn't have sounded this way without the help of you.
1:18:17
On behalf of everyone here, thank you so much.
1:18:31
Miss Bullard.
1:18:48
I'd like to start off by saying I'm not crying, so that's that.
1:18:53
So as a theater kid, I probably should have memorized this, so I'm sorry I didn't recite every night.
1:18:58
But I'm Olivia, and I've been doing drama for almost seven years now.
1:19:03
That's ten productions in over a...
1:19:05
thousand hours of rehearsing and performing. I'm not going to lie. I probably spent most of that
1:19:09
time complaining that I was tired, that I wanted to go home, or that I was hungry. That was
1:19:14
a big
1:19:15
one. But honestly, I kind of loved it, and I think Ms. Ballard's a big reason for that.
1:19:21
I started theater in third grade playing Pumbaa and the Lion King kids. I remember how dedicated
1:19:26
Ms. Ballard was to teaching us the choreo, even during COVID. She'd take us
1:19:31
out to the fields or
1:19:33
parking lot so that we could be socially distanced. Last year during Frozen, I had to beg my mom
1:19:38
to reschedule an orthodontist appointment because there was absolutely no way I was missing the
1:19:41
Hugo choreo rehearsal. Even after the rehearsal this year on this board made us all swim
1:19:47
and roll
1:19:47
on the floor for food, glorious food, I still looked forward to choreo days, which I think
1:19:51
says a lot, especially since I was wearing a cropped shirt that day. My favorite role to
1:19:56
play
1:19:56
was actually a lioness in the Lion King in seventh grade, even though I had originally
1:20:01
cried when I got the role. It was a small ensemble role, but I had so much fun because
1:20:05
I got to work with Ms. Bullard so closely. When I'd come home after rehearsal, I'd rearrange
1:20:10
the whole living room to make Dancing Room, and I'd practice the choreo for hours. My
1:20:15
parents loved listening to the Lioness Hunt, and he lives in you on repeat during their
1:20:18
dinner, by the way. But I think that says more about Ms. Bullard than anything else
1:20:22
I could tell you. Ms. Bullard has been such an inspiration in my life, and the amount
1:20:26
of energy she still has after teaching, after six hours of teaching.
1:20:29
schoolers dance is honestly incredible. I think I'd describe Ms. Bullard as a human
1:20:33
version of a warm hug. She's kind, patient, and always makes you feel better.
1:20:37
So thank you Ms. Bullard for making my experience in drama, and I hope you
1:20:41
are such a positive.
1:20:58
Miss Singer.
1:21:08
Hi, you almost made me cry, okay.
1:21:11
Hi, I'm here to congratulate the amazing costume and props director, Miss Singer, which
1:21:16
is my mom.
1:21:20
When a kid is ever upset in having a costume crisis, or just in a crisis in general,
1:21:25
name that pops into their head is Miss Singer. You've done so many incredible things in the
1:21:29
drama department for making an Elsa breakaway dress by yourself to costume 80-ish kids who
1:21:34
don't know what they're doing. And knowing every single one of them by name and part.
1:21:39
You're the most supportive person I've ever met and I'm not being biased. I remember when I was
1:21:43
a giraffe in The Lion King and we couldn't be a part of the circle because we were getting ready
1:21:47
so you made all the left side tech kids come in and do a circle with us and this just shows that
1:21:52
you care about every
1:21:53
everybody. Um, I lost where he was. Okay, the amount that you put into a show is crazy.
1:21:59
And if anybody's, um, it looks like your wardrobe was borrowed from Broadway, like, from
1:22:04
Broadway.
1:22:04
Okay, even after spending five hours after school working on costumes, you still come home and bake cookies for all the volunteers.
1:22:10
I don't know how you do it. You care so much, you carry chocolate in your bag to give to kids when they're worried.
1:22:15
I mean, you dress up for the show every night in a themed costume.
1:22:23
Even though I'm graduating, you're staying to pass on the torch to the next volunteers who have big shoes to fill.
1:22:30
I can't wait to see what you do with the Little Mermaid next year. I love you.
1:22:58
Jamie.
1:23:11
So today we have the great honor
1:23:12
of thanking our production stage manager, Jamie Holmes.
1:23:21
Jamie works countless hours to help with sets, training new stage crew members, and
1:23:26
most importantly, programming light sequences for Ghost Light, the talent
1:23:32
show, the dance show, and Oliver.
1:23:34
As if that wasn't enough, he's also the assistant to the director, where he not always so
1:23:39
successfully tries to quiet an energetic mob of middle schoolers.
1:23:44
I remember meeting Jamie.
1:23:45
me three years ago in Schoolhouse Rocks in Summer Drama, and I'll never forget his unique
1:23:50
personality and laugh. We always loved coming up with funny responses for
1:23:56
attendance to
1:23:56
confuse you, and we'll always remember you yelling, Cooks in the Kitchen.
1:24:06
We're a very interesting chaperone for the D .C.
1:24:13
trip.
1:24:13
And it was quite an experience.
1:24:15
And I just love walking in every day to rehearsal
1:24:18
and seeing your random energetic bursts of energy and joy.
1:24:23
And you really encouraged me to be my best self
1:24:25
at rehearsals and shows every day.
1:24:27
And even though we don't say it,
1:24:29
you bring so much to our team and we love you, Jamie.
1:24:41
so I think we all know that Jamie is obviously awesome that's why he got the
1:24:46
newspaper with the influence on it you are the influence to this program Jamie
1:24:51
okay so this is from me and Ofree but um so
1:24:56
when people think about musical
1:24:57
theater they usually think about what's happening on stage like all these actors
1:25:01
the set thank you Crainans and like the story but um they
1:25:06
don't see a lot of
1:25:07
them don't see what's happening behind this
1:25:10
scenes that makes it all possible. And that's where Jamie Holmes comes in. Jamie has, he
1:25:15
has
1:25:15
literally put in more hours than I think any of us will ever realize. He has stayed like so
1:25:20
many
1:25:20
nights, I think from like two to three in the morning, even later, I think like literally
1:25:25
wasting, instead of getting his beautiful hours of sleep, he stays here and works
1:25:30
on lights,
1:25:31
sound and like every single other thing. What makes us even more impressive is that he's done
1:25:35
all this, like while holding up the tag.
1:25:38
Because I don't know if you guys have seen other shows, but we had the wonderful Aiden and we
1:25:43
had Irene
1:25:43
And they were so wonderful and now we don't have them this year
1:25:47
So I'm really impressed that Jamie has been able to hold not just us, but also the actors like
1:25:52
all together
1:25:54
He's taught like so many things um
1:25:57
Honestly because of him tech isn't just a crew
1:26:00
It's a whole community and I honestly say this on behalf of not just me no free, but
1:26:05
like the whole tech
1:26:06
sitting here on stage and even up in the booth up there you are literally like the best person
1:26:11
out
1:26:11
there and i love you so much jamie oh my god i'm
1:26:17
gonna start crying okay okay so i also want to say
1:26:20
a few things about jamie jamie i met him in fifth grade during matilda it might have not been my
1:26:26
best role i was the table but being this
1:26:31
table with jamie was probably the best thing i remember
1:26:34
Matilda, there was this one time that somebody didn't bring on a block, and instead of going
1:26:38
behind, I went through and in front of the actors, and everybody told me, oh my god,
1:26:44
you
1:26:44
messed up so bad, and Jamie was like, no, you did fine. I'm glad to say
1:26:49
that now I'm on a very
1:26:50
helpful basis with Jamie. We're more like friends, like
1:26:55
really good friends, and I love the fact that
1:26:58
he's so intimate with all the kids, like he's not.
1:27:02
the adult he's like the friendly adult you're like the funk the fun uncle
1:27:09
and i think that jamie you may see him getting flowers all the time but he always
1:27:14
gives them
1:27:15
away you better keep these and even if he can't keep these
1:27:20
flowers alive because he's really busy
1:27:21
person i hope that he enjoys the best and on behalf of the entire drama
1:27:26
program since like
1:27:28
when he started to when he ends
1:27:30
We love you, Jamie, and we hope that you don't get too stressed.
1:27:37
I'm gonna cry.
1:27:38
I'm gonna cry, bro!
1:27:40
I'm gonna give you another one.
1:27:49
Last but not least, Mr. Hairston.
1:28:04
Okay. Hi, I'm Annette. I'm Briette. We're both
1:28:10
Nancy. Sorry, I said I wasn't going to cry.
1:28:15
Before we start, I just want to say a quick thank you to Aiden Bliss, because my mic was off like
1:28:20
five seconds before my entrance, and he was the only one who noticed and like said to turn it
1:28:25
back on. Okay, anyways, back to Mr.
1:28:27
okay well thank you all for coming I think that we can speak for everyone
1:28:31
when we say that this has been such a special experience um I can't believe
1:28:34
we're actually like eighth graders graduating um and come to the end of our
1:28:38
time together here at Hillview um I remember watching all the eighth
1:28:41
graders when I was younger and I always envisioned
1:28:50
I was going to give a speech of my very own on this day
1:28:55
There's no way to express how thankful I am for this experience,
1:28:58
but I want to thank Mr. Harrison for everything that he has done for this program,
1:29:02
which has played such an important role in who I am today.
1:29:06
I came in this program not knowing how to act for literally anything,
1:29:08
but now I can act better than ever before, and it's all thanks to you.
1:29:13
I remember when I was in third grade, and Oakville was doing a virtual ranking because of COVID.
1:29:18
I was really anxious about meeting the Mr. Harrison.
1:29:22
Harrison, that everyone talks about, and the moment I went on our Zoom, I don't remember
1:29:27
most of it, but I do remember how kind you were, and I knew at that moment that I wanted
1:29:31
to do drama.
1:29:32
I'm going to miss every single second of this, even the parts where Mr. Harrison is yelling
1:29:36
at us to be quiet during places, but this has been a place where I can feel joy, pain,
1:29:41
and growth, but also very much love, and it feels like a part of myself is leaving.
1:29:46
I'm going to miss every single person here, and the memories I've made here will haunt
1:29:49
me forever in the best way possible.
1:29:51
You all become my second family, and I'm not ready to leave that behind.
1:29:55
I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of pissed at you last year because you gave me a troll,
1:29:59
and the new girl got Anna.
1:30:05
I left my dance team and basically a whole friend group to do Frozen,
1:30:08
but I remember that I was getting ready for Nutcracker with a full face of stage makeup on
1:30:12
when the cast list came out.
1:30:13
And I'm pretty sure I had to redo my makeup three times.
1:30:17
But what you taught me...
1:30:20
is that I didn't need to be a lead role to have fun
1:30:23
and being a smaller role is such an important part of drama
1:30:25
because without the ensemble,
1:30:27
there literally wouldn't be a show
1:30:28
and it's also such a valuable experience
1:30:30
with growth and learning you can only get from being in it.
1:30:32
So I thank you again for making my life so colorful.
1:30:36
You've been such an important figure in my life
1:30:37
and I will never forget everything that you've done for me.
1:30:46
Okay, hi everybody, Brienne.
1:30:50
So I just wanted to continue to add on to what Annette shared.
1:30:53
Mr. Harrison, I wanted to thank you for everything
1:30:56
you've given me these past two years here at Hillview.
1:30:58
I moved here from LA in seventh grade
1:31:00
and was nervous to find where I fit in.
1:31:02
But this program and you changed that so quickly.
1:31:05
You made me feel welcomed, like I belonged,
1:31:07
and that I mattered.
1:31:08
That meant so much more than I think I've ever said.
1:31:11
Being part of this has been more than just performing.
1:31:13
It's given me a whole-
1:31:16
I came in not knowing anyone. I quickly found that the community here was so amazing.
1:31:21
People in theater are the most kind people I've ever met in my entire life.
1:31:29
Okay, being part of Oliver this year has been such
1:31:34
an amazing experience whether it was playing Nancy or cheering on from the side tonight.
1:31:37
She is such a strong and emotional character and I'm so grateful that you gave me the opportunity to step into her shoes.
1:31:43
I remember just two days before seventh grade started,
1:31:45
you met with me and showed me around the PAC.
1:31:47
Your welcoming smile and funny attitude
1:31:49
made me feel like I would be okay.
1:31:51
I also remember the countless times you've told me
1:31:53
not to direct other actors with my strong opinions.
1:31:58
You pushed me to be better, not just on stage,
1:32:00
but in real life, to be braver, to feel more,
1:32:03
and not to be afraid of being vulnerable.
1:32:05
That's why I think it's so hard to say goodbye
1:32:07
because it's not just a show.
1:32:11
It's part of me. I'm really going to miss all of this, the rehearsals, the little moments, and so much more.
1:32:15
I will never forget the feeling of eating dinner with the cast, our energy circle before every show,
1:32:20
the amount of times I've been told to break a leg and mic check.
1:32:23
But most of all, I'm going to miss the feeling of being part of something that's bigger than me,
1:32:26
something that feels like family.
1:32:28
Even though I won't be in shows with you next year, I know this really isn't the end.
1:32:31
I'll carry everything you taught me into high school and beyond,
1:32:34
and I hope somehow I can make you proud with whatever I do next.
1:32:37
Thank you for believing in me.
1:32:39
welcoming me and giving me a place I'll always be able to come back to.
1:32:42
I know I'll never forget this and how much this all means to me.
1:32:50
We thank you again and everyone who's been a part of this program.
1:32:53
The cast, crew, choreography and so much more.
1:32:56
We love every single one of you and know you're going to keep this program alive.
1:33:00
Mr. Harrison, thank you so so so much for believing in us,
1:33:03
pushing us and showing us the magic of the stage.
1:33:05
Because I knew you, I have been changed.
1:33:12
for good theater is so much more
1:33:17
than just the current call
1:33:26
okay so one more thank you we'd like Kieran
1:33:32
and William to come on up we have
1:33:35
amazing moms here Priscilla and Eliza who have taken
1:33:40
care of all of our volunteers all of our kids
1:33:43
And we appreciate you so much. Thank you. We couldn't do this without the two of you
1:33:58
Okay, well, thank you for
1:34:01
giving these kids the opportunity to
1:34:03
reflect on their time here and for listening so intently tech crew thank
1:34:08
you for everything actors amazing show and you're
1:34:14
welcome to leave thank you so
1:34:16
much and please do not take any decorations from the pack sorry just one
1:34:20
admin thing but please do take your actors pictures or your tech crew
1:34:23
picture but everything else does stay because this is a district program and
1:34:27
we're really proud of that we share a lot of this with all the schools thank
1:34:31
Have a good night. Bye.
