1:02
We have a beautiful program in front of you for two reasons.
1:07
One, our art teacher did a contest where the kids got to do some art competition.
1:12
And so we're featuring artwork on the front there.
1:15
Plus, as you came in, you noticed some of the art by the students.
1:18
So we're really happy about that.
1:21
And then if you want to see some extra things, Svetlana.
1:24
is the one who designed our program, and she made this wonderful little website. If you access
1:29
it
1:30
with that QR code on the back, you can see some behind -the -scenes photos of
1:35
some rehearsals and
1:36
some additional artwork and things like that. So that's just kind of a nice, fun
1:41
little side
1:42
project that goes along with the Lion King production. I want to say a
1:48
huge thank you to
1:49
Mrs. Bullard, our choreographer, who's just so fantastic.

3:19
and her Secret Service was able to write
3:24
We explained that the word
3:26
means that she is not a native language,
3:27
like the native language,
3:28
she is a native language.
3:31
And the word is the one,
3:33
is that she is not a native language,
3:34
but she doesn't know how to write too much.

44:33
then our animals
44:35
on the floor are going to come out here and take their animal put their animal costumes
44:41
aside if
44:41
you're on the floor third graders walk across and take your animals there we have just a few
44:46
announcements some thank you some parents have some words to say if you're on the stage and
44:51
you're not needing to take your costume just sit down where you
44:55
are please. Thank you. Excellent. And then all those friends
45:00
and all
45:05
those other friends are going to come and join in just a second. I'm going to turn
45:08
the microphone over to Karen. Hi
45:14
everyone. Good evening. My name is Karen Stalbach. I'm one of
45:17
the co -parent leads and it's actually really hard to believe that this is only the second year
45:23
that
45:23
had this program here at Laurel.
45:25
And I've had the honor of having some behind the scenes
45:29
experiences with these kids as they've
45:31
learned about courage, resilience, rhythm.
45:35
They've not only had to work in their classroom,
45:38
but also at home.
45:39
Many of you saw that.
45:40
And it's really amazing that they've
45:43
been able to learn through stumbling through the lines
45:46
and choreography that through practice,
45:48
they gain a really special kind of confidence.
45:51
And as one village owning and shining on the stage tonight.
45:55
So if we could just give them another round of applause.
46:03
So this production is a district-wide effort.
46:07
So a huge, huge shout-out to the tech crew in the back, led by Jamie Holmes.
46:13
They served as our backstage crew, lights and sound,
46:16
and really enabled our third graders to experience.
46:19
a professional production so it's such an amazing opportunity additional thank
46:25
you to the co-leads of the parents at Ensign on Oak Knoll and also I just
46:29
want to give a special shout out to Yola van Laneen if you can stand up she
46:35
really built a really strong foundation for us and for her incredible vision
46:41
work last year all these beautiful costumes
46:46
and props come from
46:47
her and it's made our job that much easier to our parents you are the
46:53
parent village you are the
46:55
ones that helped got us together we had some fun mask making nights and
47:00
supported us through these
47:02
rehearsals getting dressed making programs t -shirt designs being in the front
47:07
of house the list truly
47:08
goes on you turn the school into a theater for our children and to our
47:13
teachers a special thanks
47:16
to our principal Alicia Hennigan for your leadership
47:18
and continued support in this amazing program,
47:22
to Maestra Marquez, Maestra Montoya,
47:26
Mrs. Russell and Mr. Tashman for your flexibility
47:29
and continued emotional support in music class
47:32
and rehearsals, and to our directors.
47:36
We are truly lucky at Laurel that we have access
47:39
to such amazing talent, resources,
47:42
Becky Bullard for choreography,
47:44
Bill Harrison for blocking and acting we have a little gift for you all if you
47:48
are around but thank you so much we
47:57
appreciate you but there is one person
48:00
who's truly truly been the heartbeat of the show and that is our music director
48:05
Rachel Bergeron would you please come forward Rachel
48:11
has
48:12
in here week after week with our kids, for our kids,
48:16
doing the hard work of uncovering their talents.
48:19
We know our kids, and you know, it's not an easy job.
48:24
And we are really, really grateful for you.
48:28
And then finally, a really special thank you
48:30
for my co-parent producer lead, Melissa Polson.
48:34
Please wear the flower go.
48:37
The day she signed up was the best day of
48:40
circle of my life this really took her work in
48:45
helping you know all the sort of
48:47
I can't even remember all the things we did but the logistics and filling in the
48:52
gaps and emailing all the volunteers so thank you so much and okay
48:58
sure okay and
49:01
a really big thank you to Karen who has put in so much time with
49:06
so much grace
49:08
help our kids put on this amazing show.
49:10
So thank you for all you've done.
49:12
And one more round of applause to the JungleCast.
49:19
Thank you, everyone.
49:21
Our students, when the music plays,
49:23
are gonna go off to take off their costumes.
49:25
They will meet you outside in the back, okay?
49:28
So have a great rest of your day.
49:36
Thank you.
