Oh, how I feel simply awful. 9:40 Must have split my mind. 9:42 As the king's brother, you should have been first in line. 9:45 I was first in line, until that little hairball was born. 9:48 That hairball's my son. 9:50 and you're a future kin. 9:51 Oh, I shall practice my curtsy. 9:53 Don't turn your back on me, Scar. 9:55 Temper, temper. 9:56 I wouldn't dream of it. 9:58 What am I going to do with him? 10:00 Well, sire, 10:01 he'd make a very handsome throw rug. 10:03 And just think, 10:04 when he gets dirty, 10:05 you can take him out and beat him. 10:18 With an eager young cop. 10:20 Hey, Dad, wait up. 10:22 With boundless energy. 10:24 Where are we going? 10:25 He adored his father. 10:27 Why'd we get up so early? 10:28 Followed him everywhere. 10:30 When do we eat? 10:31 And wanted to know everything about everything. 10:33 Are we there yet? 10:35 Yes, we are. 10:37 Come sit by me. 10:38 Simba, look. 10:39 Everything the light touches is our kingdom. 10:44 At a king's time as ruler, right? 10:46 and falls like the sun one day simba it will set on my time and rise with you as a new king 10:51 and 10:51 this will all be mine everything what about that shadowy place way out there that's 10:56 beyond our 10:57 borders you must never go there simba but i thought a king could do whatever he wants well 11:01 there's a lot more to being king than getting your way all the time what are those birds over there 11:06 they're buzzards they're scary why don't we chase them away they're doing what they're supposed to 11:10 do everything exists in a delicate balance as king 11:14 you must respect all creatures from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope but don't we eat the 11:18 antelope yes but when we die our bodies become the grass and the 11:23 antelope eat the grass everything 11:25 is connected in the great circle of life mufasa 11:33 went to investigate leaving his son safely behind 11:36 simba hated missing on an adventure but he loved thinking about being king 11:45 Sorry, guess what? I'm the big king of Pride Rock. 11:48 Oh, goody. My dad has shown me the whole kingdom. 11:51 Really? Did he show you what's beyond that rise of the northern border? 11:55 Well, no. He said I couldn't go there. 11:58 And he's absolutely right. It's far too dangerous. Only the bravest of lions go there. 12:03 Well, I'm brave. 12:04 An elephant graveyard is no place for a young prince. 12:07 An elephant what? 12:08 Oh, dear, I've said to you. 12:10 much. The great kings of the past look down on us from those 20:47 stars. So if you ever feel alone, just remember, those kings will always be there to guide 20:52 you, 20:52 and so will I. Past? Young 20:58 Simba had much to think about. And remember. But first he had to believe 21:03 that he could be king. 21:13 Hey Uncle Scar, why did you bring me here to the gorge? 21:17 Your father has a marvelous surprise for you. I'll go get him. 21:21 You just stay on this ledge. You wouldn't want to end up in another mess like you did with those hyenas. 21:27 You know about that? 21:28 Lucky Daddy was there to save you, so you might want to work on that little... 21:31 roar of yours. Oh, okay, Uncle Scar, will I like the surprise? Simba, 21:37 it's to die for. 21:39 Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. A little roar, huh? Roar, 21:45 roar, roar. This 23:44 was the saddest day the Highlands had ever seen.
