test test all right if everybody can find a
0:14
seat we'll get the show on the road all
0:22
right
0:22
good afternoon everybody my name is Gina Watkins and I serve as Ensignals
0:28
Principal welcome today. It is an
0:33
incredible joy to stand up here and look
0:35
into this Hillview Auditorium and see it's so full of life. If
0:41
you just take a
0:43
quick look around, this is the community that we've all built. This
0:48
is in large
0:49
part by every single person in this room. And to kick everything off,
0:55
I want
0:55
everyone to get to know
0:56
your neighbors so please turn around and say hello to the person in front of you
1:01
behind you and on either side
1:18
all right thank you everybody so today is
1:23
not just about a play
1:26
it's about the incredible growth we've seen in these third graders over the
1:31
last few months an introduction to drama at this age is
1:37
such a gift through this
1:39
process these students are learning confidence and creativity skills
1:44
that
1:44
don't just stay on this stage but they follow our students right back into the
1:50
classroom let's be honest
1:52
Next, it takes a massive amount of courage to stand on this big stage
1:58
for a full musical.
2:00
And at just 8 and 9 years old, these kids are showing us what it means
2:05
to be truly brave.
2:08
A production of this scale requires a pride of dedicated
2:13
leaders who have poured their
2:15
hearts into our students.
2:21
John Ashfield, and he's sitting right up here in the front.
2:32
John Ashfield is our very own Encinal music teacher
2:37
and the musical heartbeat of this show.
2:39
John has been the steady hand guiding these students
2:43
through every note and every lyric.
2:45
His dedication to their songs and solos
2:48
has given them the foundation they need to shine today.
2:52
And Bill Hairston, who might come out of the,
2:56
there he is.
2:58
Thank you, Bill.
3:00
Bill Hairston is our district director
3:04
and the drama teacher here at Hillview Middle School.
3:08
And even with his enormously busy schedule here at Hillview,
3:13
he's been at Ensignal three days a week
3:15
for the past many months.
3:17
He used his incredible expertise to guide these eight and nine
3:22
-year -olds through the fundamentals of acting and staging with incredible patience
3:27
and care.
3:29
And finally, Becky Bullard, she's probably in the back, but
3:34
Becky Bullard is our choreographer.
3:37
And I have to say, I know she's a phenomenal choreographer, but
3:42
that's not what stands out to me about her.
3:45
Becky didn't just teach our 86 third graders
3:48
how to move and sync,
3:50
she did it while truly celebrating them.
3:53
She is a gift for noticing and honoring
3:55
the individual strengths of every student
3:58
and also while leaning into the wonderful playfulness
4:01
and silliness and energy
4:03
that makes being eight or nine years old so special.
4:08
I wanna take a special moment for two people
4:10
who've been the engine of
4:13
this entire experience.
4:15
Alison Jagtiani and Francesca Bragioli.
4:26
So if you don't know this about these two superstars,
4:30
for months, Alison and Francesca have lived,
4:33
breathed, and eaten the Lion King.
4:35
They've poured countless hours into this production,
4:39
working side-by-side,
4:41
with the directors every week and managing our incredible army of volunteers they
4:47
have steered
4:48
this ship with total devotion all because they wanted our kids to
4:53
have this magical experience
4:54
and we quite literally would not be here today without them so big thank you
4:59
to them
5:06
and finally we have to acknowledge the
5:09
artistry that brought the African savannah to life that you'll see in just
5:13
a moment. As they say, it takes a village. Adam Landry and
5:18
Jessica
5:19
Gronski for creating our stunning new giraffes and elephant. Thank
5:25
you.
5:29
Iris Panavia for jumping in with her sewing machine and artistic
5:34
talent to
5:35
create beautiful pieces and records.
5:37
time. Thank you. And
5:42
finally, to all of our parent volunteers, whether you worked on costume
5:47
headbands, Rafiki sticks, flower arches, or lobby decorating, or
5:53
I'm sure there's many other things
5:54
I'm forgetting about, but thank you. You've made this world come alive. And
5:59
parents and grandparents
6:01
and friends who are sitting here, and all of the teachers.
6:05
We have many of them here today.
6:07
Thank you for your support, your time, your flexibility,
6:11
and for sharing your amazing children with us.
6:14
And I put the teachers with the parents
6:16
because they feel like they own these kids
6:18
as much as the parents do.
6:20
A couple of housekeeping things.
6:22
Oh, no, no, the most important before I say that.
6:25
If you take a peek around you in the shadows of the room,
6:29
up in the back, you will see a bunch
6:31
of Hillview Middle School students.
6:33
students who are doing all of the lighting and all of the tech work that goes into this
6:39
So middle schoolers giving up their weekend for the elementary school is pretty cool.
6:43
And you're going to be amazed at what they do.
6:46
And that's not all.
6:49
There's also the Hillview broadcasting crew, so you'll see we've got cameras
6:54
on either
6:54
side of the room.
6:55
I'm just going to say that I was one of their fifth grade teachers, so I feel a special
6:58
connection to them.
7:00
They are on the side of the room.
7:01
sides doing all of the filming for this production. Again, totally student -run, so fantastic
7:07
there.
7:08
Thank you. Thank you, Hillview. And just a couple of housekeeping things.
7:13
Of course,
7:14
we want everyone to know where the exits are. So you can see over here, you can go out the
7:18
two back ways like you came in. If you're near the top and needed to get out, in the
7:23
back doors,
7:24
there's steps. So you'll see an exit sign and can go down the steps. The bathrooms...
7:29
located in the lobby. And then just so you don't get the embarrassing phone call in the
7:34
middle of the production, we'll make sure everyone silences their phones. And with that,
7:39
we'll welcome the cast of The Lion King. Enjoy.
7:57
Thank you.

12:41
We'll be right back.
13:06
Thank you.
13:34
I remember there was 161, that he was about 1 ,000 people,
13:40
and he was relying on their community
13:42
entirely in Jaya.
13:55
What is news for you?
13:58
Oh, I say, I don't know why I don't hear the statement since you must be in jail.
14:02
What do you think about it?
14:04
You stay with my uncle.
14:08
You don't trust me at my name.
14:10
I'm a king, brother, you're saying a question.
14:13
I'm a lawyer, you're saying.
14:16
You know, you don't want to know that
14:19
radio as my son and the teacher too.
14:21
I don't want to know what.
14:24
Don't send me back to me for more than
14:27
it's a country.
14:28
I need you to.
14:30
Yeah, I'm a good dude.
14:32
Yeah, fine.
14:33
You look at the other name.
14:34
Yeah, I'm good.
14:35
Well, not.
14:36
It would be fair.
14:37
So, that's a good idea.
15:06
Thank you.
15:27
Like for all of these and not just simply that they want to come.
15:28
And we want all these great benefits for that.
15:34
That's one of our goals, that we're going to go ahead with them.
15:37
We want to come up with them, and I don't know what you guys are doing.
15:42
So just like your boards are struggling and there were things that
15:47
they're asking
15:48
to bring to the discipline group or anything specific about the best community look at.
15:53
Thank you.
15:55
Thank you
16:04
very much.
16:24
I am lucky to tell you no one's thinking about how you can it.
16:29
Yeah, what do you think?
16:31
I'm like, you think, I'm like, oh, I'm kidding.
16:34
Like, what is going to be the whole thing?
16:37
You know, what do you think?
16:39
You know, that's what you want to do.
16:41
You know, I'm sorry.
16:42
You know, I'm not going to be the whole thing.
16:44
I'm not going to be the whole thing.
16:47
It's not, you think.
16:49
You know, you're the whole thing.
16:51
I'm going to open the table
16:56
to the door for a long time.
16:59
I'm going to open the table to the door for a long time.
17:00
Right, that's it.
17:03
Oh, did you all click to?
17:06
You want to go to the next step?
17:09
She'll talk about the card.
17:11
Why don't you tell me that I'm going to open the table to the door for a long time.
17:15
I'm going to open the table.
17:16
Is why I will see you.
17:18
Thank you.
17:29
I love you.
17:47
We'll be
18:01
right back.
18:15
Thank you.
19:11
We'll be right back.
19:46
Thank you.
20:17
We'll be right back.
20:37
Thank you.
21:27
I'm going to do it again.
21:31
No, no, no, no.
21:34
No, no, not for anybody.
21:36
Nobody knows.
21:42
I think that's it, that's all
21:47
I think of you.
21:49
That's why we're going to be the way.
21:54
So I would like you to get out of it.
21:56
I would like you to sit free,
21:59
Fletcher, Fletcher, y'all, be ready for that.
22:03
I will film me over the top on the top off
22:08
the top of the top.
22:09
I want to start with that.
22:12
It's not a place to get this right, to it.
22:18
So I'm going into a company over the line.
22:23
Just try to make a big piece of communication.
22:30
We'll be right back.
23:08
Thank you.
23:24
and start seeing all the kids doing the same.
23:31
I can't tell you what you need,
23:34
but when you're seeing them,
23:36
I can't tell you what I mean.
23:39
I can't tell you what you need.
23:43
I can't tell you the kids.
23:48
I can't tell you.
23:52
We'll be right back.
24:20
Foi o tempo agora,
24:22
comlear o meu filho,
24:24
amores!
24:27
Tchau!
24:29
Diz assim mesmo!
24:31
Não fui mais amado ainda.
24:35
Desce de dificuldade!
24:37
Deve-se dificuldade!
24:39
E tem dificuldade?
24:41
Não estou de rico!
24:44
This one can take care of me.
24:50
Thank you.
25:44
So all of you need to get a right thing to look up at the great Jesus that passes
25:49
down from the great church.
25:51
And I need to feel like I need to remember those people, those teachers, because I am totally right.
26:20
I don't know what's going on, I don't know what's going on, I
26:25
don't know what's going on.
26:38
I don't know what's going on.
26:40
More! More!
26:44
Can you guys look forward?
26:47
Go!
26:48
It's going to come forward.
26:56
Go!
26:57
Thank you.
27:08
We'll be right back.
27:36
Love, Britney, and Britney.
27:39
One, one, two.
27:41
One, two, one, two.
27:42
Two, three, four.
27:47
Four, four, four.
27:55
Five, four, five, zero.
27:58
Five, four, five, one, three.
28:01
Five, five, nine, four, five.
28:04
You're your God.
28:06
You're out.
28:07
You're so close.
28:09
I'm a dead.
28:11
You're dead.
28:11
And I'm here.
28:12
I'm for you.
28:13
You're so young.
28:15
I'm looking at my son.
28:20
I'm here.
28:23
You're he.
28:31
He's a child.
28:34
Good to lose.
28:36
See you.
28:37
What does that mean?
28:38
I'm already a fool.
28:40
I'm already an arid.
28:44
This is how you are a friend.
28:46
I'm already an arid.
28:58
This is how you're not.
29:01
...
29:24
Thank you.
29:29
Let's do that.
30:01
Thank you.
31:21
We'll be right back.
32:17
Thank you.
33:13
I love you, I love you, I love you, I
33:18
love you.
33:41
to do all the questions.
33:43
So now I need to make more of your friends today.
33:46
I'll bring a few of you that are able to get them.
33:49
And one time to see it around when it's not required to get help.
34:02
So, it asks you to start with your team.
34:06
Come back.
34:09
And you can say, what's going on right here?
34:13
And I'm going to let him go.
34:15
See, I can't.
34:16
But I can't see what I'm saying anymore.
34:18
You're not proud.
34:20
I can't believe it.
34:21
Everybody takes me a test.
34:23
But, you know, I'm not going to do anything.
34:29
I'm not going to do anything.
34:39
Bye.
35:06
Thank you.
35:34
We'll be right back.
36:12
Thank you.
37:34
Thank you so
37:51
much for joining us.
37:54
I can't move back.
37:56
Well, sometimes that is happening.
37:58
I think it's not here to do that.
38:00
That's why I learned.
38:01
What happened to you?
38:02
You're not just in that matter.
38:08
You're right.
38:10
I'm wrong.
38:12
I can't move back.
38:14
I'm wrong.
38:22
Be small and a heart.
38:25
Hey, don't harm.
38:26
The infection is more new.
38:28
I'm not going to get at all.
38:30
I said, I don't eat any of your lives.
38:32
You're in Boston, I'm not going to get caught.
38:33
I'm not going to get caught.
38:37
But my father and I will try to get caught.
38:39
I'm going to get caught.
38:42
You got caught.
38:45
That's why I thought it.
38:47
I'm just going to get caught.
38:48
Hey, don't forget.
38:58
Thank you.
40:14
We'll be right back.
40:42
Thank you.
42:02
I can't believe it.
42:10
Thank you.
42:40
We'll be right back.
43:04
We're not doing good jobs.
43:07
But there's nothing.
43:09
The person has to do that.
43:10
You have to decide what.
43:12
We're not doing good jobs.
43:38
We'll see you next time.
44:12
We'll be right back.
44:30
Thank you.
44:55
Oh, God!
45:24
See you next time.
45:51
Thank you.
47:44
Animal Kingdom.
47:49
Ms. Pindar's Villagers.
47:55

47:59
The Rafikis.
48:05

48:12
Pumbaa and Timon.
48:17
The villain, Scar, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed.
48:24

48:47
Thank you.
