We also have hair and makeup artists who are back there who have this beautiful 1:22:26 talent and they share it with this community so that our kids could show up today and 1:22:31 really 1:22:31 be in the spirit of Frozen. We also have snacks and concessions. Thank you so much for all 1:22:36 the snacks you deliver for our kids. They are so hungry back there. It is terrifying. 1:22:42 So thank you so much for that. And then programs, PR and media creators, thank 1:22:47 you for getting 1:22:48 the word out. 1:22:49 of what we're doing. 1:22:50 Thank you for the beautiful flyers, the t-shirts, 1:22:53 and all the collateral that you provide this program. 1:22:56 So we have more thank you, so please stay seated. 1:23:00 And just thank you again from the bottom of our hearts 1:23:02 to all you parents and families and caretakers 1:23:06 who support this program. 1:23:13 Thank you. 1:23:13 And now we want to recognize our direct 1:23:17 of directors so we have some specific people to thank and as i say your name 1:23:22 if you can please 1:23:23 come on stage and we have some flowers and a gift for you and some of our 1:23:28 graduating eighth graders 1:23:29 are going to say a few nice words about you so we'll start with our set designers 1:23:34 and master 1:23:35 builders the husband and wife team catherine and kevin cranan 1:23:53 I'll bring everyone up 1:23:55 and then we'll do the thank yous. 1:23:56 Come on up, come on up. 1:23:58 So next, our production stage manager, Jamie Holmes. 1:24:10 Not present tonight, but they deserve a huge applause. 1:24:13 and we've thanked them on prior shows, 1:24:16 Aiden Appleby and Irene Vail. 1:24:25 There is she, our amazing costume designer, Nora Singer. 1:24:37 Our choreographer, Becky Bullard. 1:24:45 Our Vocal Director, Krista West, and 1:24:55 our Director, Bill Hairston. 1:25:11 Okay, now to say, we're going to pass the mic around. 1:25:13 We'll start with the craniums. 1:25:33 We want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Cranein 1:25:36 for the amazing and difficult work. 1:25:38 that they've done for this show it's never easy to construct a set that's both gorgeous to look at 1:25:42 stable to stand on and fit on the hillview stage and yet every show they managed to 1:25:47 outdo themselves 1:25:48 frozen has been no different it's so impressive how they've designed literally the entire set 1:25:53 from the castle doors to the entire ice castle i especially love the trap door and 1:25:58 let it go 1:25:58 would have been wouldn't have been the same without it even if i'm always afraid of falling 1:26:02 on the singer's face before the dress pool i can't imagine 1:26:06 frozen without your amazing talents and perseverance and I couldn't have been 1:26:09 more grateful. Although my last show here was Tuesday, I hope that you go on to 1:26:14 make Hillview shows better and better. I can't emphasize enough how thankful we 1:26:18 are to your contributions here at Hillview and I wish I could continue to 1:26:21 see all the marvelous shows you continue to do. Again, thank you so much for your 1:26:25 amazing work. We love you so much. 1:26:46 Jamie, or as I sometimes call you, JJ, you 1:26:51 have been such a rock for drama in all of us, 1:26:54 whether it's passing out snacks, taking attendance, or yelling at us backstage to be quiet. 1:26:59 But really, Jamie, for me, I can't see this community. 1:27:02 without you. I still remember the time I asked you what you would do with $5,000 1:27:06 and the first thing you said was give it to your mom. That's the kind of 1:27:10 compassion you bring to this community. We will miss you more than you know and 1:27:15 let's say I'll always remember our handshake. Oh yeah. 1:27:37 So, I'm making this speech out to the someone, or actually better said 1:27:42 someones, who are 1:27:44 sitting behind me, they're stage blacks, they are, yeah, 1:27:55 the about 50 of them are really 1:27:56 the spine in every good. 1:27:58 production. And without them, in our case, there would be really no 1:28:03 show. The tech crew, 1:28:05 their lights, their flies, their mics, and the used to have smoke were all 1:28:12 vital parts 1:28:12 of this show. And we would just really be no show without 1:28:18 them. So, you know, however, 1:28:20 due to the nature of the job, they can be very underappreciated due to their need to 1:28:25 be invisible. 1:28:26 behind the scenes. 1:28:27 So I think I speak for the whole cast when I say thank you. 1:28:37 And also a quick shout out to Leo and Noah. 1:28:49 Hi everyone, my name is Ella 1:28:51 and I think I can speak for the whole cast. 1:28:54 saying again, talking about Jamie, Jamie has, I 1:29:00 think everybody's able to appreciate and admire 1:29:02 Jamie Holmes for a number of reasons. For example, he's always ready to do his tasks and 1:29:08 take action 1:29:08 when needed and is a relatable, funny leader for younger kids. He 1:29:13 always knows where everything is 1:29:17 and makes sure that we don't get distracted. We are so extremely, immensely positive. 1:29:22 really grateful for all the great work he puts into these wonderful productions. Thank you, Jamie. 1:29:42 I'm Jack, and I play Kay Agner, and this is Izzy, my double. 1:29:45 Tonight, we get the pleasure of thanking Miss Singer, our amazing costume designer and prop 1:29:48 maker. She has done so... 1:29:52 She has done so much work to get us where we are tonight. 1:29:54 Miss Singer has been working on costumes 1:29:56 and organizing many costume people 1:29:58 since the start of Frozen rehearsals. 1:30:00 Whether that be fixing wigs or helping each and every one 1:30:03 of us get ready in these beautiful costumes for the show. 1:30:06 Not only did she make these costumes 1:30:08 and organize how they got made, 1:30:10 but every single prop you see tonight 1:30:13 was made or fixed by her. 1:30:15 We're talking about the amazing Olaf puppet 1:30:17 to the flower bouquet in your 1:30:18 own very hands. She is always there for us and fixes every single thing that we break or tear. 1:30:25 She comes in every morning with her bright personality and makes everything so much better 1:30:28 with her always can-do attitude and she never stops reminding us we're never fully dressed 1:30:32 without a smile. We're still wearing the smiles you gave us when we started this journey. 1:30:37 We cannot express in a million words how grateful and blessed our cast is to have 1:30:41 Miss Singer as our costume designer. We couldn't have done this without you. 1:30:59 Hi, my name is Leela, and I'm going to be thanking Ms. Singer because she's such 1:31:04 an inspirational 1:31:05 role model. 1:31:06 I hung out over the weekends a few different times working with her on costumes, and boy, 1:31:12 does she make dreams come true. 1:31:14 I mean, if you could... 1:31:15 I couldn't already tell from the people on the stage. 1:31:18 Her creativity is off the charts, 1:31:21 and she will see an old curtain and think, 1:31:23 this will be the perfect apron, 1:31:25 and bam, the magic happens. 1:31:28 She is also always paying attention 1:31:30 to how everyone is feeling backstage, 1:31:32 and if she sees that someone is down, 1:31:34 she'll give them a cookie or a hug to lift their spirits. 1:31:37 I feel so lucky to have such an inspirational person 1:31:40 in my life, and I hope I can continue doing costume. 1:31:43 with her next year. 1:31:44 I love you so much, Miss Singer. 1:31:45 I love you, too. 1:32:03 Don't be spoiled. 1:32:11 Okay, before I make this speech to no one, is Ms. Bullard here? 1:32:18 No, okay. 1:32:20 Well, I'm just going to say that she's kind, caring, and energetic, 1:32:24 and that's something really hard to find in a choreographer, especially talented ones. 1:32:29 Ms. Bullard is not short of any of that. 1:32:31 She does our amazing choreography that ties this whole show together. 1:32:35 I also want to highlight her patience because it's a mess backstage. 1:32:39 when she's not there. I just wanted to say thank you so much Ms. Bullard for 1:32:43 your dedication. You truly made Frozen shine. 1:32:55 Okay so I'm Layla and I'm Avery and this is our last show at Hillview. We're 1:33:00 here 1:33:00 to thank Ms. Bullard because she's an amazing choreographer and a super nice 1:33:03 person. She makes everyone feel so important during the whole musical. I 1:33:07 in fifth grade I walked into one of those three hour choreography rehearsals and saw this random 1:33:11 lady. I remember thinking, wow, her shoes are Seussical themed. That's so cool. Like 1:33:17 Layla, 1:33:17 I remember in third grade I walked into the gym to practice Lion King and I saw this lady 1:33:22 who 1:33:22 seemed surprisingly excited to teach a bunch of kids how to dance. Back then I didn't realize 1:33:28 what a huge part she was to contribute 1:33:33 for me being a 1:33:35 for my theater career. She is also really patient, which is surprising 1:33:41 because she 1:33:42 has to deal with all of these kids at once. Having to deal with a hundred kids 1:33:46 who don't know when to enter seems pretty tiring. She has done an amazing 1:33:50 job choreographing the dances for this show. If you haven't noticed, these 1:33:55 dances 1:33:55 are so good. You can tell she really cares about the show. Even with everyone 1:33:59 being sick, she made sure to go through all the dances and fill all the missing 1:34:03 but you guys didn't even notice people were missing. 1:34:06 We just wanted to thank Ms. Bullard 1:34:08 for everything she's done for us in the show. 1:34:11 Thank you, Ms. Bullard, and we'll miss you next year. 1:34:20 Hi, I'm 1:34:25 Henry. 1:34:26 And I'm Julia, and we would like to share our memories 1:34:28 of our wonderful choreographer and former preschool. 1:34:31 teacher, Miss Bullard. From day one, she enveloped us in warm energy, always waiting at 1:34:36 the door 1:34:36 with a bright smile or ready to bandage up our numerous cuts and bruises. And although 1:34:41 there was still baby fat on our chubby little legs, she was already teaching us how to whirl 1:34:46 and twirl. She taught us the Macarena and the chicken dance, along with many other goofy 1:34:51 dances, with Frozen playing constantly, planting the early seeds of theater in 1:34:56 our heads. After 1:34:57 our glory days at the co-op, she 1:34:59 We stayed in our lives through elementary school, 1:35:02 in the Lion King and Seussigal productions, 1:35:04 and in sixth grade when I did Matilda. 1:35:06 And now in our final production in the district, 1:35:10 she's once again created a choreographerful wonder. 1:35:13 Throughout our time with her, 1:35:15 she has always been a positive and loving person. 1:35:17 We love you so much, Teacher Becky. 1:35:24 Nice to see you, and Sophie. 1:35:34 Hi, I'm Sophie and we would like to thank Miss West for all of the hard work 1:35:39 dedicated 1:35:39 to our rehearsals and each and every one of us. 1:35:44 Miss West has helped us so much with the music we learned for this production 1:35:49 from the first 1:35:49 day of rehearsal to the days of the shows. 1:35:52 She has worked so hard on harmonies, even though it may have been a long time ago, but she 1:35:55 taken us all the way until the day of the shows to somewhat learn them. From 1:36:00 leading vocal warm-ups and telling us not to crush our neck vertebrae, to 1:36:04 reminding us always to have a smile on her face, Miss West has done it all. 1:36:09 These shows could not have been possible without her. Thank you so much, Miss West. 1:36:18 I've done many productions in my life and Miss West is probably my favorite vocal 1:36:23 I've ever worked with. 1:36:24 She's helped me with my music and energy 1:36:26 and she helped all of us perfect our singing. 1:36:28 We're so grateful for the hard work, time, and energy 1:36:30 she put into this musical 1:36:31 and making all of us sound as best as possible. 1:36:34 She was so positive with all of us 1:36:36 and she was so kind and helpful. 1:36:37 I only got to work with her for two shows, 1:36:39 but I hope all of the future cast she works with 1:36:41 love her as much as I do. 1:36:42 She helped me gain confidence and energy 1:36:44 to perform my role as best as possible. 1:36:46 Thank you so much and I will see you in future productions. 1:37:12 Hi everybody, my name is Annabelle and this is my sixth and final show here 1:37:17 at Hillview 1:37:18 and I would like to thank 1:37:19 our director, Mr. Hairston. 1:37:27 I just wanted to say how lucky Hillview is 1:37:30 to have a director like him with us 1:37:33 and how he's able to put on such a professional show 1:37:36 with middle school students. 1:37:38 And it's so wonderful to see how many kids 1:37:41 are able to perform on a stage like this 1:37:43 in such an amazing show, which has helped me so much, 1:37:45 even outside of theater. 1:37:48 In my three years at Hillview, 1:37:49 I've really gotten to know Mr. Hairston. 1:37:51 But one of my favorite things about him 1:37:52 is when he's talking about the show 1:37:54 or acting out a scene for us, 1:37:56 you can just see the passion in his eyes 1:37:59 and how his face lights up 1:38:01 and just how much he cares about the show and all of us. 1:38:04 And, sorry, he's been really influential to me. 1:38:10 And I know that when I'm older, 1:38:11 I probably won't remember much from my middle school years, 1:38:15 but I'll always remember. 1:38:16 remember this show, and the ones I've done with you, so thank you. 1:38:32 Hi, I'm Issachar Godich, and I'm here to thank Mr. Hairston. 1:38:36 Mr. Hairston, you have been one of the greatest inspirations in my life. 1:38:40 More specifically, the love and passion you bring is unmatched and 1:38:44 through onto your students. I'm forever grateful for you because in the six years 1:38:49 and eight months that I've known you, although it may not feel like a lot, the 1:38:52 wisdom, confidence and positivity that you've bestowed on me in that time is 1:38:56 enough to move mountains. As I'm acting on stage following your lead, I always 1:39:00 feel an overwhelming feeling of happiness and love. It's like my soul 1:39:04 comes alive and and that would never been possible without you 1:39:09 and for that 1:39:10 I'm forever grateful. 1:39:12 thank you you have taught me to act with soul heart and love you will forever and 1:39:16 always inspire me not to mention not 1:39:22 to mention the undividable force of a 1:39:24 community that you've built it is so comforting for me and so many others to 1:39:28 know that this is a space where I'm valued respected and accepted which is 1:39:32 truly amazing thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself and 1:39:36 you are by far one of the most extraordinary people I ever met 1:39:40 and I'm going to miss you so much. 1:39:41 Thank you for everything in making these years 1:39:43 at Hillview ones I'll never forget. 1:39:53 Hi, my name is Awin, 1:39:55 and I also wanted to thank Mr. Hairston, 1:39:58 our director for Frozen and a lot of other shows. 1:40:03 Without him being here, 1:40:04 none of this would have been possible, 1:40:06 and he carries through... 1:40:08 with stubborn kids who are not willing to listen and 1:40:13 I love the way that when we 1:40:16 mess up he tries to encourage us to try acting and to never give up. 1:40:29 Hello hi everyone I'm Serena I want to thank Mr. Hairston from 1:40:34 Lion King and 1:40:36 to The Lion King again in eighth grade, 1:40:39 theater has been a big part of my life. 1:40:41 I've developed so much since then, 1:40:43 thanks to Mr. Harrison's hard work and dedication. 1:40:46 Whether it's summer musicals like Mean Girls, 1:40:48 or The Play That Goes Wrong, 1:40:50 where we loved learning stage combat, 1:40:52 every show has been so much fun. 1:40:54 From teaching us how to pronounce hygge, 1:40:57 to how to have attitude as Regina, 1:41:00 through the 10 shows I've done with him, 1:41:02 Mr. Harrison has taught me how to portray 1:41:04 so many different characters i especially appreciate our conversations after the cast list 1:41:09 comes out though i may not always get the role i want he has helped me realize that every role 1:41:14 is 1:41:14 an opportunity to grow and have fun he also makes us laugh with his funny impressions 1:41:20 and always 1:41:21 finds a way to make rehearsals fun my parents still talk about when i was maizey and 1:41:26 seussical 1:41:26 three years ago and mr hairston's have show shows have impressed my parents so 1:41:31 much that they 1:41:32 want my brother, who has never done a musical in his life, to join in. My grandma 1:41:37 always comes home 1:41:38 talking about how much she enjoyed chatting with you and watching the show. Mr. Hairston, 1:41:44 you've 1:41:44 taught me how to act, sing, and believe in myself. Even without singing lessons, you've 1:41:49 helped me 1:41:50 perform with confidence.
