Oh, I feel simply awful. 4:52 Must have slipped my mind. 4:55 As the king's brother, you should have been first in line. 4:58 I was first in line until the little hairball was born. 5:03 That hairball is my son and your future king. 5:06 Oh, I shall practice my curtsy. 5:09 Don't turn your back on me, Scar. 5:11 Oh no, Mufasa. 5:14 Perhaps you shouldn't turn your back on me. 5:18 Is that a challenge? 5:19 Temper, temper, I wouldn't dream of challenging you. 5:23 Pity, why not? 5:25 Well, I've got the lion's share of the brains, 5:27 but when it comes to brute strength, 5:30 I'm afraid I'm in the shallow end of the gene pool. 5:34 What am I going to do with him? 5:36 Well. 5:37 Messiah, he'd make a very handsome throw rug. 5:41 Zazu. 5:42 And just think, whenever he gets dirty, you can take him out and beat him. 5:49 That's a good one. 5:50 Thank you. 6:05 Mama, yeah! 6:41 Where are we going? 6:52 Why did we get up so early? 7:00 Are we there yet? 7:01 Hem, hem, hem, hem, yow, ha, 7:07 hem, hem. 7:11 Sit by me. 7:13 Look, Simba, everything the light touches is our kingdom. 7:19 A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. 7:23 One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here 7:25 and will rise with you as the new king. 7:28 And this will all be mine? 7:31 Everything the light touches. 7:33 What about that shadowy place over there? 7:35 That's beyond our borders. 7:37 You must never go there, Simba. 7:38 But I thought a king could do whatever he wants. 7:41 Well, there's a lot more to being king than getting your way all the time. 7:45 Dad, what are those birds over there? 7:47 They're puzzles. 7:48 They're scary. Why don't you chase them away? 7:50 I don't have to. They're doing what they're supposed to do. 7:53 You see, Simba, everything exists in a delicate balance. 7:56 As king. 7:57 You need to understand that balance and respect all creatures, 8:00 from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope. 8:03 But, Dad, don't we eat the antelope? 8:07 Yes, but when we die, our bodies become the grass, 8:10 and the antelope eat that grass. 8:12 Everything is connected in the great circle of life. 8:16 Sire, where are you, sire? 8:18 Good morning, Zazu. 8:19 Sire, there you are, urgent noose, hyenas in the Pride Lands. 8:23 Zazu, take some behold. 8:25 Dad, can I come? 8:27 No, son. 8:28 I never get to go anywhere. 8:30 Oh, young master, one day you will be king. 8:33 Then you can chase those slobbering, mangy, 8:37 stupid poachers from dawn until dusk. 9:07 Hey Uncle Scar, guess what? 9:10 I'm gonna be king of fried rock 9:12 Oh goody 9:13 Well, forgive me for not leaping for joy 9:17 Bad back, you know 9:20 My dad just shown 9:21 me the whole kingdom and I'm gonna rule it all. Really? He 9:27 didn't show you what's beyond that 9:28 rise at the northern border, did he? Well, no. Said I couldn't go there. And 9:34 he's absolutely right. 9:35 It's far too dangerous. Only the bravest of lions go there. Well, I'm brave. 9:41 What's out there? I'm 9:42 sorry, Simba. I just can't tell you. Why not?
