All right, welcome. My name is Gina Watkins
0:05
and I serve as Ensenal's
0:07
assistant principal. Pardon me from reading from my page but I don't
0:13
want to
0:13
miss any of the people that I want to recognize today. It's
0:18
really incredible
0:19
to see this multi -purpose room so full of life and
0:25
you know this is the
0:27
incredible
0:28
that we've all built this is Ensignal and I'd like everyone
0:33
to get to know our
0:34
neighbors if you'll just take a second to say hello to the person in front
0:40
of you
0:40
behind you and on either side
0:58
Thank you, everybody.
1:06
Thank you.
1:08
All right, well, today is not just about a play.
1:12
It's about the incredible growth that we've seen in these third graders over
1:17
the last few months.
1:18
An introduction to drama at this age is an incredible gift.
1:24
Through this process, these students are learning
1:26
confidence and creativity,
1:29
skills that don't just stay on the stage,
1:32
but they follow the students right back into the classroom.
1:36
Let's be honest, it takes a massive amount of courage
1:39
to stand on this big stage for a full musical.
1:43
At just eight and nine years old,
1:46
these kids are showing us what it means to be truly brave.
1:51
A production on
1:52
This scale requires a pride of dedicated leaders
1:57
who have poured their hearts into our students.
2:05
John Ashfield sitting right here in front.
2:08
Our very, thank you.
2:14
John is our very own Ensenal music teacher
2:17
and the musical heartbeat of this show.
2:20
John.
2:20
been the steady hand guiding these students through every note and every
2:24
lyric. His dedication to their songs and solos has given them the foundation they
2:30
need to shine today. Bill Hairston. Bill, where are
2:35
you? He's somewhere in here.
2:38
There he is. I see you back there. Bill Hairston is our district
2:43
director and the drama teacher at this middle school, Hillview. Even with
2:48
his
2:48
full schedule at the middle school, Bill has been at Encinol three days a week
2:54
for the past many
2:55
months. He uses his incredible expertise to guide these eight and nine -year
3:00
-olds through the
3:01
fundamentals of acting and staging with patients in care. And Becky
3:06
Bullard. Becky, are you in here
3:08
or is she behind the scenes? She's behind the scenes. Well, Becky is our choreographer,
3:14
but
3:15
Becky didn't just teach
3:17
86 third graders how to move in sync.
3:20
She did it while truly celebrating them.
3:22
She has a gift, and anyone who knows Becky has seen this.
3:26
She has a gift for noticing and honoring
3:29
the individual strengths of every one of our students,
3:33
all while leaning into the wonderful playfulness
3:35
and silliness and energy
3:38
that makes being eight or nine years old so special.
3:43
I wanna take a special moment.
3:45
for two people who have been the engine of this entire experience.
3:50
Allison Giaggiani and Francesca Brazzioli.
4:00
For months, Allison and Francesca have lived, breathed, and eaten
4:05
The Lion King.
4:07
They have poured countless hours into this production,
4:09
working side-by-side with the directors every week.
4:13
and managing our incredible army of volunteers.
4:17
They've steered this ship with total devotion,
4:19
all because they wanted our kids to have this magical experience.
4:24
And we literally would not be here today without them.
4:29
Thank you.
4:34
And finally, we have to acknowledge the artistry that brought the
4:39
African savanna to life.
4:41
As they say, it takes a village.
4:43
Adam Landry and Jessica Gronski for creating our stunning new giraffes
4:48
and elephant.
4:50
Iris Panaviha for jumping in with her sewing machine and artistic talent to
4:55
create beautiful pieces in record time.
4:58
And to all our parent volunteers, whether you worked on costume headbands, Rafiki
5:03
sticks, flower arches, lobby decorating, and everything else, thank you.
5:09
the world come alive and parents and teachers I put you
5:14
guys together
5:15
because you both I know view these children as yours so parents and
5:19
teachers thank you for your support and your time and your flexibility for
5:24
sharing your amazing children with us and finally back behind
5:30
us you can't see
5:31
them they're in all black tucked away back there is our Hillview tech crew
5:35
these are
5:37
students who are doing everything you see from the microphones to
5:42
the lights
5:44
and these will be many of the students that are in third grade now they will do
5:48
this in just a few years so before we start just a few housekeeping reminders
5:53
number one know where the exits are okay we have one up here we've got the two
5:58
out the back of the lobby if you're at the top you can go down the steps to
6:02
get back down bathrooms are located
6:05
in the lobby, and then just so none of us
6:07
have the embarrassing thing happen of our phone ringing,
6:09
if you'll turn those off, that would be great.
6:11
And with that, please join me in welcoming
6:14
the cast of The Lion King.

Thank you.
12:10
And now that you have heard me then.

12:17
I've got an idea for them so far.

19:39
I told you she got a plan in her life,
19:40
and I didn't ask her how to film her.
19:44
I'm not just a plan to lose her-
19:46
She taught her in the film her life.
19:49
I think you made her so happy to be a happy woman .지peln.
20:00
지peln.
20:03
She taught me how to do her with the gay woman.
20:04
and I taught you that she taught me how to do her.
20:07
Thank you.
20:35

36:12
